Whew! We did it! 2017 is officially at a close and it’s time to focus on all things fresh and new. That means a new Travel Tuesday post for the week.
I thought I’d go for the ole’ metaphorical post today, though. Travel Tuesday, where we’ve been and also where we’re going. Because we ARE going places in 2018. Aren’t we?
To start, thank you for your readership and support this past year. Realtor® on the Road is my creative space and it’s wonderful to have you along for the ride. In a world filled with contracts and legal-ease, I desperately need this creative outlet.
My most popular post of 2017 was my most difficult to write. It was the Memorial to my Grandmother who passed away in May. She was a beautiful human who left an indescribable legacy. I was lucky to have known her. And it was therapeutic to write out the memorial to her, in a time when I was just shocked and grieving. There’s rarely a day that goes by that I don’t think of her, and I am so glad to get to share a little about her with the world. Thank you for reading and offering sympathies at that time. In case you missed the original post, you can find it here. There’s a great story at the end of the post, one that deserves to continue to be told.
My personal favorite post of 2017 was my review of Emeril’s Coastal Italian restaurant. What a fun post to write. It’s obvious I have a passion for quality food and it fires me up – just read the post, you’ll sense my excitement. Then you need to quickly make plans to eat there. Trust me, you’ll want to try it. And after you do, don’t forget to call me to purchase a home in Sandestin. Because you’ll want to live as close as possible to Emeril’s Coastal Italian so you can eat there anytime you want. No one is judging you for making a move to Florida based off a restaurant. And please, do NOT read that post on an empty stomach. Drool and computer keys don’t mix. I’m speaking from experience, y’all!
Now… where are we going? It is, after all, Travel Tuesday. Realtor® on the Road continues to evolve and grow, and I can’t say definitively where it will go in 2018. If the world is my oyster… the blogosphere is my pearl. Do what you will with that – I promised metaphors. I didn’t say they’d be good. But in all seriousness, what do YOU want to see on this blog? More travel posts? Places to go? How to get there? Real estate tips? Marketing ideas? Recipes? Household tips? DIY stuff? Tell me what you want, please. My pen is at your beck and call.
Now, for some ACTUAL Travel Tuesday related stuff… We booked a trip back to Iceland and then on to Norway for February of 2018. We are SO excited to visit Tromsø, Norway because it’s in the Arctic circle, and that has always been a bucket list item of mine. I like cold places. I’m just strange like that. We will also hit up Bergen and Oslo while we are in Norway, but Tromsø is definitely the highlight for me.
We are also headed to Orlando then down to South Florida for a few days in January. Excited to spend some time with family and hopefully thaw out from the -32 degrees we have here in the Midwest today. That trip couldn’t come soon enough. I know I said I like cold vacations, but lets just clear up one thing… Tromsø averages 30 degrees in the winter… that’s 60 degrees warmer than what we have here right now. I’m good with 20-30 degrees… but NEGATIVE 20-30 is just RIDICULOUS.
On that note, stay warm, friends.
Cheers to 2018!
